Well Tank Diameter is 28 inches x 62.3 inches tall and this tank has a female threaded One and One-Quarter inch bottom inlet. In fairness to our customers, we strongly recommend you consider a standard steel-diaphragm type tank. While most of our sales feedback on fibreglass tanks has been positive, we have had incidents of the fibreglass tanks not responding well to the elements such as intensive sun exposure and pressure in particularly sunshine intensive areas. Fibreglass tanks do tend to be rated at somewhat less recommended operating pressures than do steel tanks. While in most installations using pressure switches, in some applications a reduced pressure tolerance may create problems. I am also advised that the manufacturers of Fibreglass tanks no longer recommend or offer install-it-yourself replacement diaphragms/bladders/air cells for sale. The following descriptive remarks are provided by the tank manufacturer...
-
Durable Composite Construction - A rugged one-piece molded, inner-liner of premium high-density polyethylene. The outer-shell is impervious to rust, dents, and ultra-violet rays. The rigid molded polyethylene base is the sturdiest composite base on the market.
-
Proprietary Fiberglass Wrap Pattern - Tanks are stronger than if they were constructed with steel. Tanks can be installed with a wider range of pressure settings so you can select the system pressure you want.
-
Air Cell - The air cell is fabricated from durable and extensively tested ethyl-vinyl-acetate (EVA). EVA is resistant to chlorine and will not support iron bacteria growth that may be present in the water supply. It offers longer life than urethane air cells, or butyl diaphragms in steel tanks.
-
Replaceable Air Cell (no longer available) - With the tank installed! Air cell access is via a top mount design. Generous and accessible air cell opening facilitates easy removable and re-installation of replacement air cell.
The bottom line is that if you have an existing fibregass tank and have been pleased with it's performance and longevity, we are more than happy to supply you with a replacement fibreglass tank. But we do not independently represent fibreglass tanks as, in our opinion, being equal to or superior to standard steel/bladder type pressure tanks. We do recommend standard steel/diaphragm construction well pressure tanks.
