The SPB025 Self Piercing Barb Connector is item # 4 in the Rainbird Drip catalog and can be inserted into distribution tubing using an XM-Tool or Bug Gun - EMA-BXG - in order to provide a transfer fitting on the main distribution tubing for connection of  quarter-inch distribution tubing (DT-025 or PT-025).  Outlet barb accepts quarter-inch distribution tubing (DT-025 or PT-025). Gray outlet barb indicates unit has unrestricted flow. 0-50 lbs psi operating range. This fitting is generally used as a junction point on 1/2" or 3/4" mainline to "tee in" a 1/4" smaller lateral line. It has unrestricted flow and is not intended to be used as an emitter.
