The Rainbird 24 Volt Plug-in Transformer will fit all Rainbird RC Series indoor electro-mechanical controllers. If your controller has anything like the dials shown in the additional info photo, this is the plug-in transformer that will fit your controller.

Note - All transformers are checked for proper operation before being shipped and are NOT eligible for return.

Tip - do NOT plug in your new transformer until you have ALL the wiring completed, because if you plug it in and the two 24 volt wires touch ends, the transformer will instantly burn out.

Tip - if there is any chance that a blown solenoid or short circuit in the valve wiring burned out your transformer, check for shorts BEFORE installing and trying your new transformer.

Use a regular electric test meter to check for shorts - resistance between the common wire going out to the valves and each individual valve hot wire should be in between 20 and 50 ohms. If resistance is under 20 or over 50 - your have a problem. To read - place the meter on resitance, place the black probe on your ground going out to the valves, place the red probe on each hot wire going out to the valves and read one by one.

In case of bad resistance reading, cut solenoid wires close to valve. If reading at timer location now improves, the short was in the solenoid; replace it. If you still get a bad reading after cutting solenoid wires near the valve, you have a short somewhere in your wiring from the controller to valves. Have fun finding it. First place to look is anywhere the valve wiring is exposed or where recent digging has occure to plants shrubs, ect.
